From beginning to now Alawathugoda temple has been developed and modified by various type of societies and committees. The main huge society of Alawathugoda temple is "Dayaka Sabha" means Contribution society which is included all members of this area and everything of this temple is helped by it. Specially development projects are helped. As example the Pagoda building project would be helped by contribution society. Little period before the bordering wall of Alawathugoda temple project was be held with main contribution of this society.        Alawathugoda temple has another society called "Kulagana Society" which is included all women of this area and they all help to contribution society and also temple for every field. In Pagoda building project time, all of women save the rice and sold it and also save the money and donate to it.

       Alawathugoda temple has another very good society called Prabathaya young Buddhist Organization which is included all teens of Alawathugoda village and they try and try however develop the temple, however build up the mind of people, however do social service and more. They did seminars for school children for free and they showed dramas for school children and also in final nights of  year 2002, 2003 they had organized Dharma preaching Ceremony.
